It's Friday afternoon, I'm about 150 words away from the last line of my PhD (fear not, chapters one and two are yet to be written) and I've stumbled upon a challenge: describe the financial crisis in a Haiku poem. The syntax is five, seven, five syllables per line respectively. Here's my effort:
Banks began to sink
So we bankrupted the state
To save the tossers
